Enhance your green space with a magnificent flower meadow, full of colour and rich in biodiversity!
Our team is trained in the creation of flower meadows. Through thoughtful design and careful selection of native plants, we can help you create a haven of peace, where nature takes its rightful place. We work for both private homes and industrial estates.
Why create a flower meadow?
A flower meadow is not only beautiful to look at; it also serves as a refuge for local wildlife.
This type of garden design has many advantages:
- You benefit from reduced maintenance compared with a traditional lawn. Flower meadows only require the equivalent of 2 mowing sessions per year.
- You promote biodiversity by providing a habitat for a variety of pollinating insects and birds.
- You contribute to sustainable water management thanks to better soil absorption. Even in periods of drought, the grass grows to a height of 80 centimetres.
In short, creating a flower meadow is a beautiful and easy way of bringing your garden back to life, while promoting biodiversity.
How to create your ideal flower meadow?
Creating a flower meadow requires a thorough understanding of the soil, climate and local plant species. Here’s how we do it:
1. Evaluation of the site:
We analyse the soil, exposure to the sun and topography of your garden to choose the most appropriate location and the best plants for your flower meadow.
2. Plant selection:
Our expertise enables us to offer you the right mix of wild flowers (30%) and native grasses (70%), so that they will thrive in your garden. We work with locally sourced, organic and non-transgenic seeds and native plants. Please note that colours and flower types can be customised to suit your preferences.
3. Planting:
With an aesthetically pleasing and ecologically responsible design, we plant and organise your flower meadow for successive flowering throughout the seasons.
We take care to mix the seeds with sand to impoverish the soil, which is the key to a successful flower meadow.
4. Maintenance:
Maintaining a flower meadow is particularly easy and requires minimal work. A flower meadow should be mown twice a year, in June and early autumn, to maintain the vigour of the meadow. It is important to remove all the mown material, to impoverish the soil as much as possible.
However, after 5 years, it will be necessary to reseed your flower meadow to restore it to its original glory.
